Mastin Matters love Spanish Mastins and we think you will too once you come to know them. These are loyal working dogs, used in rural Spain as guardians of livestock. They have a natural instinct to protect. But there are thousands of these dogs discarded, chained up, abandoned in a perrera and left to die through no fault of their own.

Their aim is to rescue and home as many Mastins as they can, to provide them with happy futures and give the British public a chance to appreciate and welcome these lovely dogs into their lives. They also aim to influence legislation in Spain which reduces the level of cruelty to animals that is common place when you look beyond the holiday resorts and into the reality that is the culture of Spain. Puppies being stoned by children in the streets as sport! Limbs, ears, tails being hacked off for no reason. This must and will change. We will do our part and support the many wonderful people committed to the same change as we are.

PHOEBE

Already in UK (West Sussex)
Phoebe is a true Mastina, and incredibly beautiful. (at 2 yrs old. )
Phoebe loves people, has no hesitation in going up to strangers and is proud to introduce herself. She gets on well with other dogs out and about, but would prefer to be an only dog at home. She grew up alone in a perrera she was rescued at 12 weeks. So no instruction from her mum and no siblings to share with until she went to foster.
She is fully vaccinated with chip and passport. Now is the perfect time for her to learn and become the fabulous dog she will be in the right hands. She’s agile, playful, loving and beautiful. Looking for a rural or semi rural home please.
Not cat tested, but can be done.
Would be sweet with children over 5. Might be a bit boisterous at times with toddlers and inadvertently knock them over.
